Eligibility for Bachelor programs: Nepali or Non-Nepali national with 10+2 or equivalent level education of at least 1.60 CGPA or 40% aggregate. (Applications with transcripts issued by NEB before 2022 should have a minimum of 2.0 CGPA of 45% in aggregate). GCE Advanced Level students should have passed at least three subjects at A Level and one general paper at AS Level with a minimum of 40% PUM in aggregate. Selected applicants have to pass an entrance test and interview.

- Master in Urban Studies (MUS)
- Master of Arts in Music (MMus)
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA)
MASTER’S PROGRAMS – Extended/ Partner Programs
- MA in Buddhist Studies – Kathmandu University Centre for Buddhist Studies, Rangjung Yeshe Institute, Kathmandu
- MA in Translation, Textual Interpretation, and Philology – Kathmandu University Centre for Buddhist Studies, Rangjung Yeshe Institute, Kathmandu
Eligibility for Master Programs: Nepali or Non-Nepali national with completion of 4 year Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2 out of 4 or an equivalent of 45 percent marks in the latest degree acquired in a recognized institute. Selected applicants have to pass an entrance test and interview.
A strong quantitative background will be given priority in the selection process.
Scholarships: several scholarships are available in bachelor programs such as merit-based scholarships for semester toppers, need-based scholarships for students from low-income families, and one Lalitpur Metropolitan Quota Scholarship in each program.
Bachelor-level programs offer scholarships to 10 percent of admitted students under the UGC Formula Funding Scheme.
Master-level programs offer scholarships to 20 percent of admitted students under the UGC Formula Funding Scheme.
Note: Scholarships are not applicable for the affiliated or extended programs.
Reserved seats: 10 percent of the total approved seats are for foreign students. Similarly, another 10 percent of the seats are for students under the inclusion category.
Note: students waiting for the results of their final year or semester examination of their qualifying degree can apply for provisional admission.
