Overview of the program
Bachelor in Korean Studies (language and business) is a 4 years undergraduate program, aiming to produce good Korean language teachers for the future, this program is jointly developed and operated by Kathmandu University and Songgok University South Korea as a 2+2 joint degree. The eligible students can pursue their remaining educations either in university or after completing a minimum of 1 year at Kathmandu University. Over the years Korean language, culture, music, drama, and food are widely gaining popularity all over the world. Nepalese young are magically attracted to Korean hallyu (wave). This year more than 0.5% of the total Nepali population are appearing in the Korean language exam called EPS in search of a good job in South Korea. It proves that the Korean language is not a regional language anymore; it’s a world’s world-popular language.
The growing number of students for the abroad study is a big issue in the Nepalese academic diaspora. This program believes in holding students for at least 2 years at Nepal University and letting them study abroad with a well-prepared approach to the related nations with an earn-and-learn program.
The program is designed by an expert in the related field with the concept of “earn and learn” to support students. Who can earn well and learn better in this program?
